Born in Roeselare in 1949.
Grandson of Minister Robert De Man and son of artist André De Man.
Artistic education at the municipal academy in Bruges and at the Saint–Lucasinstitute in Ghent.
The resolute lining and fluent shading reveal a strong enthusiasm during the early stage of creating. Obviously, his outspoken distinctive figurative work is not directly determinable in time and space. Passion, nourished dreams, emotional bonds and inevitable grief are the ingredients which continue to fascinate the artist.
